I am very excited to be participating in the Tiger Strikes Asteroid / Satellite show during Art Week in Miami December 1st - 6th

MADE and LABspace present “+1+1” as part of the Tiger Strikes Asteroid “Artist-Run” project for SATELLITE at the former Ocean Terrace Hotel in Miami Beach during Miami Art Week December 1-6.

“+1+1” is a curatorial experiment in which 6 artists affiliated with MADE and LABspace each invites another artist and those invite one more artist each to participate. The installation includes a total of 18 artists from NYC, Miami, and abroad exhibiting sculpture, painting, works on paper, performances, projected video, all of which together creates a layered and wholly unexpected, exciting, and dynamic installation. The curatorial process is experimental, collaborative, and ultimately founded in artistic trust and openness.

SLUICE Art Fair October 15th - 18th

I am very happy to share some exciting international exhibition news.
This coming weekend, October 16th - 18th, I will have new pieces representing several bodies of work featured in the Sluice Art Fair in London.  Brought to Sluice by NYC based MADE Art, the show will include an installation of tea & rust stained porcelain “barnacle” sculptures, egg tempera and encaustic drawings from my recent residency at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts in Auvillar France, and a series of kinetic pin and wall-mounted sculptures.
A huge thank you to Made Art Founding Director and Curator, Katarina Wong!

Plus One Plus One at LABspace Gallery

I am currently in a group show at LABspace in Hillsdale, NY
"Plus One Plus One"
The show will be on view through June 7th, 2015.

Above are a few sculptures from the installation that are stained with tea and rust.  These hand-made sculptures are bisque fired so that they remain porous and receptive to their environment.  Some of these pieces are installed outside the gallery around the window frame, (pictured below) - it will be interesting to see what happens to them over the next month as they live outside and experience the weather.
